Facts
Most elections are decided by very slim margins:
- 2016 POTUS election decided by 80,000 votes spread over WI, MI, PA
- 2020 POTUS election decided by 44,000 votes spread over GA, AZ, WI
- In 2016, the POTUS won WI by 22,748 votes, or .7% of the total
- In 2020, the POTUS won WI by 20,682 votes, or .6% of the total
- In 2018, 1,078 state legislative elections won by a margin of 10% or less
Due to claims of voter fraud:
- As of January 6th, 2021, 62 lawsuits were filed to overturn election results, with 61 defeated
- A total of 475 fraudulent votes were found amongst the six battleground states – not remotely close to the amount needed to overturn the election in any state
- 66% of Republicans, 28% of Independents, and 3% of Democrats believe election was stolen
Current states with less than 1% margins which had major changes to their 2020 voting laws:
- Decreased ballot drop-off box locations
- Created barriers to mail-in ballots
- Restricted voting hours
- Empowered partisan legislative bodies over career election officials
